Who is Riddlesdown Manufacturing?
That’s a different name, where does it come from?
That is a question that is always being asked by customers. John and Mary Jackson from Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia started their small business in 1995. John is a well-known face around the Adelaide CBD because of his expertise with Water Treatment. Mary also gained notoriety because of her customer care.
The business was named after their humble abode, Riddlesdown Cottage, which in turn was named because of links to Riddlesdown in the London Borough of Croydon, England. The name Riddlesdown was first recorded back in 1331 as Ridelesdoune and is thought to be derived from the medieval English riddeleah – ‘cleared woodland’.
In 2005 John and Mary retired and John and Judith became the new proprietors of Riddlesdown Manufacturing.
